Commercial Pipe Replacement
Many commercial buildings experience the same problems of pipe corrosion as residential property. However, the most common problem occurs in buildings that have a re-circulating (hot water) system. A re-circulating water system puts more stress on the pipes, leading itself to corrosion and/or pinhole leaks. This is due to the aggressive nature of hot water and the calcium that effects the pipes.
Here are some other reasons why you might be having problems with your pipes:
- Low quality pipes whether they are copper, galvanized, cast iron, or lead will corrode
- Poor recirculation system
- Poor installation or complex plumbing design issues
- Calcium and mineral build up
- Pipes were installed using two different types of metals. Common examples include:
- A steel screw in a brass faucet
- Copper pipes contacting a steel or iron pipe (for example, on a gas main)
- Brass fixtures connected to steel pipes
- Copper fixtures connected to steel pipes
- Water chemistry problem (too much chlorine in your water)
- Slightly acidic water
 - Complex building design
- Hot and cold water distribution system
- Time – over time water begins to corrode your pipes
There are many other reasons why good pipes go bad. However, the only way to prevent future
damage is to never permit water to come into contact with your pipes. The solution is now available
through our permanent in place pipe restoration process for commercial buildings.
